[ Summary ] It is important to perform decompression of the alimentary canal contents appropriately, in patients with bowel obstructions. Some patients with uncontrolled bowel obstructions lapse into serious condition due to necrosis of the intestines, which sometimes leads to septic shock, due to perforations of the obstructed bowel. Therefore, a clear understanding of the changes concerning subjective symptoms, abdominal observations and internal images of patients with obstructed bowels is very important. A physician who has patients with intestinal obstructions should pay attention to changes in patients' condition, and if they suffer from those conditions, they should be consulted by the surgeon on their condition.
