[ Summary ] The routs of endoscopic infection may be divided into the following three categories, patient to patient infection, obvious infection from latent infection through endoscopy and patient to endoscopists. Patient to patient infection is the most common route in endoscopic infection. The common infectants in patient-to-patient infection through endoscopes are Salmonella and Pseudomonas. H.pylori is also a commonly observed infectant. HBV and HCV infection are reported through biopsy.
Biliary infection after ERCP from latent infection is sometimes observed in patients with cholelithiasis.
Environmental disinfection in the endoscopy room is also important to prevent infectious incidents.
