[ Summary ] As is well known, H.pylori and the use of NSAIDs are the major independent risk factors for peptic ulcers. Although their numbers are small, Helicobacter pylori negative and NSAID negative peptic ulcers should receive attention because of their resistance to treatment. The pathophysiology of idopathic peptic ulcers is as follows: Helicobacter pylori negative and NSAID negative peptic ulcers without crohn's disease, cancer or ZE syndrome is affected by several factors, such as stress, acid, motility and genetics and should be elucidated.
