[ Summary ] The long term use of NSAID has been shown to frequently induce gastric ulcers in Japan. With NSAIDs, upper gastro intestinal bleeding, induced by aspirin, may increase in the future, According to EBM-based guidelines for the management of gastric ulcers. These guidelines revealed that co-administration of prostaglandin and protonpump inhibitors were recommended for the reduction of NSAID related ulcers.
