[ Summary ] It is well known fact that an atypical symptoms, such as “heartburn”, come about due to stomach acid reflux. Recently, the manifestations related to otolaryngology also have attracted attention. Moreover in America, GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) conditions known as LPRD (laryngopharyngeal reflux disease) are thought to be otolaryngological in nature. However, the pathology of this condition has many unknown points. We must rule out malignancy, but must consider that GER (gastroesophageal reflux) may cause otolaryngologic symptoms.
