[ Summary ] Adaptation of nutritional control is possible in the terminal stages of cancer treatment for patients who are able to recieve small amounts of water and a liquid diet orally when ADL is maintained for more than a few months. There are many cases in which there are disorders of digestion absorption and passage disturbance of the alimentary tract in digestive cancer patients, in which cases, total parenteral nutrition (TPN), especially home parenteral nutrition (HPN), is more useful than enteral nutrition. The effective period of nutritional control is prior to the period of palliative care in the terminal stage.
