| [ Summary ] | Methods way of management for cancer patients must eliminate pain, or must make pain fully controllable, even if it cannot be fully eliminated. Methods for eliminating cancer pain, using special technologies and special knowledge are much in demand. Therefore, there are cases where some doctors can achieve these goals but a great number of general medical doctors cannot easily use these treatment methods. On the other hand, the method of treatment for cancer pain which WHO advocates can be performed in general medical doctors. It should be acquired by general medical doctors. Although pain is not totally eliminated with this method, fully controlling it is possible and this can contribute to improvements in and maintenance of a patients' QOL. |
