[ Summary ] CT scanning during arterial portography (CTAP) and CT scanning during hepatic arteriography (CTA) have improved the detection and characterization of hepatic neoplasms, particularly hepatocellular carcinomas (HCC). Recently, an IVR-CT system has come into wide-spread use, so CTA and CTAP can be easily obtained on the same table. Furtheremore the combination of CTA and CTAP is very effective in improving the accuracy and efficiency of diagnosis and therapy for HCC.
