[ Summary ] |
We have reported complications related to the pre-medication and related countermeasures in upper gastrointestinal endoscopy. Endoscopists should learn the pharmacological effects, side effects of the pre-medication, and emergency measures. Furthermore, they must get informed consent for endoscopic procedures from patients, and observe patients carefully, not only during endoscopic procedures, but also during pre-examination and post-examination. When a complication has occured, it goes without saying that we must deliver the best treatment for complications. |
