[ Summary ] This article, presents first, brief explanation of the basic concept and processing work flow in the virtual endoscopic systems(VES). A few functions of advanced VES, such as virtual expansion or resection of organs, a system for educational use, navigation diagnosis, and information augmented endoscopy are discussed. Finally there is a brief summary of the advantages and limitations of VES.
