[ Summary ] We reviewed the multidisciplinary treatment for severe acute pancreatitis. Our standard guideline for the management of acute pancreatitis is targeted mainly at SIRS, MODS, and/or CARS in the pathophysiology of severe acute pancreatitis. High-quality intensive care must be given, even in cases of moderately acute pancreatitis with in the first 48 hours. The main concept of critical care should be considered for the treatment of inflammatory mediators and infection, as well as cardiopulmonary support.
