[ Summary ] About 50% of NSAIDs ulcer patients are infected with Helicobacter pylori. These patients could be treated through the eradication of this organism. However, the role of Helicobacter pylori in relation to NSAIDs ulcers has been controversial. While eradication of Helicobacter pylori prolonged the healing of gastric ulcers, this therapy dramatically reduced the incidence of these lesions. Detailed studies are required on this subject in Japan.
