Title Evaluation of Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR) Combined with Laser Irradiation for Early Gastric Cancer in Long-term Prognosis

[ Summary ] In our experience with EMR combined with non-resectional local treatment methods (laser irradiation or heater probe coagulation, etc.), the long-term results showed residual cancer or recurrence rates of 20.7% in lesions with absolute indications and 8.0% in ones with relative indications. However all of these were successfully treated with a second endoscopic procedure. This shows that EMR combined with non-resective treatment would be effective for treatment of early gastric cancer lesions not only those which are absolute but also those with relative indications, displaying results which are equally favorable to those cases treated by single EMR.
