[ Summary ] Helicobacter pyrori infection and the use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) are the to major risk factors for the development of peptic ulcer disease. It have been to shown that each risk factor can cause peptic ulcer disease by itseIf, but the rerationship between these two factors remain to be determined. Reecent large-scale prospective studies have shown controvertial results. Clearly, another well desinged, large-scale prospective studies are needed to answer thisdifficult quesyion.
