Additionally motor skills training is necessary for begginers to be able to manipulate the colonoscope with accuracy and speed. Efforts to advance the scope without over-expanding the colon can bring about a painless examination of patients without risk of severe complications. To avoid over-expansion of the colon, the colonoscopist should manipulate the scope carefully in order not to make a large loop in the sigmoid colon. They should master the technique of rotating and pulling back the scope in the bent portion of the colon. |
