[ Summary ] This paper reviews the roles of mast cells and macrophages in gastric inflammation. Although the precise mechanisms are still unclear, both cells produce quantities of cytokines, arachidonates and oxyradicals and participates in infiltration of inflammatory cells in the stomach, induced by various stimuli including H.pylori.
