[ Summary ] The treatment of nausea and vomiting involves various medications that act centrally, on the gastrointestinal tract, and also on both. Centrally acting drugs include antipsychotic agents, antihistamines, and minor tranquilizer, while peripherally acting drugs include anticholinergics, and anesthetics. Prokinetic agents include dopamine receptor antagonests, cholinergic agonists, and serotonin antagonists.
