[ Summary ] Confluence stones and biliobiliary fistula are uncommon complications associated with cholelithiasis. Because there are no particular clinical images or symptoms, correct preoperative diagnosis is difficult. These conditions are often detected during operations and dense adhesions may suggest a false diagnosis of cancer. By opening the gallbladder and obtaining a cholangiographic sample, such an abnormal condition can bediagnosed. Treatment consists of partial cholecystectomy and closure of a cuff of the gallbladder wall over a T tube placed into the main bile duct through the fistula. This paper describes the diagnosis, the formation of this condition and the treatment for confluence stones and biliobiliary fistula.
