| [ Summary ] | A prospective, randomized nonblind controlled study was performed to evaluate the preventive effect of Sho-saiko-to on HCC dcvelopment. Two hundred sixty patients with cirrhosis were randomly assingned to two groups. The patients in the trial group were given Sho-saiko-to in addition to the conventional drugs given to the control group. The patients were monitored for 60 months and the cumulative incidence of HCC and the survival rate in the two groups was calculated. The cumulative incidence curve of the trial group was lower than the control group, and the survival curve of the trial group was higher than the control group. | |
