[ Summary ] There have been no important advances in the treatment of Crohn's disease. In Crohn's disease, there is conclusive evidence that an elementary diet is superior to drug therapy for induction and maintenance of remission. However, when nutritional therapy is not well tolerated, drug therapy using SASP, 5-ASA and prednisolone should be the second choice in severe and frequently relapsing Crohn's disease.
