[ Summary ] Gastritis cystica polyposa (GCP) , which was reported by Littler in 1972, is stomal gastritis after gastrectomy caused by bile reflux into the stomach.
In spite of the low incidence of reported cases, this GCP is occasionally observed on follow-up studies of the resected stomach.
Endoscopically, GCP forms an elastic protruded lesion, occasionally a pedunculate polyp, on the gastrojejunal stoma especially on the greater curvature.
Bile reflux into the remnant stomach and N-nitrate of bile acid cause GCP formation and finally reach the remnant gastric carcinoma. Therefore, careful observation for GCP in gastrectomy patients is necessary.
