[ Summary ] From the aspect of bleeding, the clinical features and management of non-specific inflammatory disorders (i.e., ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease) are reviewed. The features and management strategie include diagnosis and therapy. Bleeding is a common symptom of non-specific inflammatory bowel diseases, because these disorders have an inherent tendency to bleed. The possibility of bleeding should be always considered in the treatment of these dieases. Therefore, there is no specific therapy for bleeding of ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. It is of paramount importance to apply the basic management principles of both diseases.
