[ Summary ] With a super-aging society, the number of patients with osteoporosis and osteoporotic fracture increases. Osteoporotic fractures cause the chain of fractures. However, many patients with osteoporotic fracture (Care Gap) are exposed to the risk of re-fracture without an evaluation and treatment being conducted; many patients with fracture cause anegative spiral to cause another bone fracture. This causes a remarkable rise in medical care and nursing care costs and consequently negatively influences the extension of healthy life expectancy. This must be understood by healthcare workers. Construction of the regional medicine cooperation is important to stop this negative spiral. For the regional medicine cooperation construction, the expectation to depend on the Osteoporosis Liaison Service led by a doctor and the medical staff will be high in the future.
