[ Summary ] |
Diagnostic methods for intestinal tract infections include fecal culture examinations, fecal smear tests, antigen tests, and genetic tests. Commonly used tests are fecal culture examination and antigen testing. In fecal culture examination, it is necessary to estimate pathogenic bacteria to some extent. In fecal antigen tests, the quick diagnostic kits using an antigen such as pathogenic microorganisms, pathogenic factors, or toxins are widely used. The quick diagnostic kits have the advantage that they can be used easily in a short time, but the sensitivity or the specificity is also insufficient in some kits. |
