[ Summary ] |
Previously, liver cirrhosis was thought to be irreversible. However, recently a great deal of evidence has indicated that liver cirrhosis is reversible after anti-viral therapy using direct acting antivirals for the hepatitis C virus and nucleotide analogue for the hepatitis B virus. Furthermore basic studies and clinical studies targeting regression of fibrosis are ongoing. In this section, we will introduce the recent basic and clinical study targeting fibrogenesis and fibrolysis. |
