[ Summary ] In the liver disease field, we observe patients with viral chronic hepatitis caused by persistent hepatitis B virus, infection and the hepatitis C virus, in non-viral chronic liver dysfunction patients such as those with fatty livers and NASH (nonalcoholic steatohepatitis), It is widely known that case with progression of hepatic fibrosis have a high risk of liver carcinogenesis. However, though if the degree of fibrosis is the same, the risk of liver carcinogenesis varies depending on the cause of liver lesions. With hepatic fibrosis findings from both types of patients, those with chronic hepatitis C and those with chronic hepatitis B, the risk of liver carcinogenesis as an indicator of liver cancer risk. In patients with chronic hepatitis C incidence is high at about two times the risk for chronic hepatitis B patients.
