【 要旨 】 関節軟骨は再生能に乏しく,損傷を受けると治りにくい.限局した軟骨欠損に対して,骨髄刺激法,骨軟骨柱移植術,自家軟骨細胞移植術,同種軟骨移植術が行われている.それぞれ,適応とする損傷の大きさ,硝子軟骨による再生,対応できる患者数,において特徴をもつ.近年iPS細胞が新たな細胞の供給源として研究の対象になっている.

[ Summary ] Articular cartilage has poor regenerative capacity. Microfracture, osteochondral grafting, autologous chondrocyte transplantation, and allogeneic cartilage transplantation are strategies used to correct focal defects of articular cartilage. Each procedure has specific features and limitations in terms of the size of the defects that can be corrected, the regeneration capability with hyaline cartilage, and the number of patients who can be treated. Recently, induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cellderived chondrocytes have been investigated as a new treatment strategy.
