[ Summary ] |
Primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) is due to excessive secretion of parathyroid hormone (PTH) by one or more parathyroid tumor, triggering hypercalcemia. Some genes have been identified not only as being associated with familial PHPT, but also non-familial diseases. In this review, these genes and their functions in the pathogenesis in PHPT are discussed. |
