Frailty is one of the features of geriatric syndromes, The prevention of frailty and sarcopenia are major goals for care of the elderly population. In order to sustain functional activities in the elderly, promotion of nursing care and preventative intervention is important in terms of providing successful aging strategies and healthy lifestyles for the elderly. In particular, reductions in falls and fall-related injuries as well as treatments for osteoporosis are necessary to keep the elderly active. Recent findings suggest that some pharmacological interventions for osteoporosis treatment may be promising candidates for treatment of sarcopenia. |
