[ Summary ] |
Calcium sensing receptor (CaSR) is a G-protein coupled receptor which play essential roles in the regulation of pararhyroid hormone secretion by extracellular calcium (Ca). Since the cloning of CaSR, it has been shown that aberrant CaSR functions derive from mutations in CaSR genes, CaSR autoantibodies, or disordered expression of CaSR, underlie several hypercalcemic and hypocalcemic diseases. It is desirable that some measures should be established to clinically diagnose these diseases. Therapy should be tailored to the pathogenesis of these diseases in the future. |
