[ Summary ] |
Recently NKF (National Kidney Foundation) published "K/DOQI Clinical Practice Guideline for Bone Metabolism and Disease in Chronic Kidney Disease". The management and the treatment of renal osteodystrophy, including phosphate derangement, are reviewed according to degree of renal impairment in the guidelines. It is expected that the guidelines contribute to CKD (chronic kidney disease) treatment in Japan. However, there are some differences in medical practices for CKD, in particular hemodialysis therapy, between Japan and United States. These differences should be considered for the aplication of this guideline to Japanese CKD patients. |
