【 要旨 】 ヒト・ゲノムプロジェクトを中心とするヒトゲノム解析の進展，DNA解析技術の開発，膨大なシーケンスのデータの集積とデータベースの整備に伴って，多因子遺伝病/"common disease"の原因遺伝子 (感受性遺伝子) の解析が可能になってきた．本稿では，遺伝子多型の利用による「ゲノム上の位置」の情報をもとにした多因子遺伝病の感受性遺伝子へのアプローチの方法 (連鎖解析，相関解析) を概説し，その問題点，研究の基盤について述べた．

[ Summary ] Recent advances in genome science enable us to study genetic factors (susceptibility genes) associated with common polygenic diseases. In this review, approaches for the genetic factors related to the common diseases, based on the positional information, developed through utilization of genetic polymorphisms, are described with an emphasis on associated problems and the infrastructure necessary for these genetic studies.
