When choosing the optimal therapeutic modality for severe secondary hyperparathyroidism, the number and localization of enlarged glands with nodular hyperplasia is mandatory. Intervention for treatment of the parathyroid gland is best indicated for patients with one or two nodular hyperplasia, without ectopic glands. |
