【 要旨 】 1990年代は,透析患者にとって医療や福祉の面では日本経済の発展とともに優遇されてきたが,2000年に入って以降は,少子高齢化時代に突入し,毎回医療費の見直しが行われてきている.透析医療も例外ではなく,年々高齢化の進むなかにあって医療と介護制度の両方を十分把握したうえで上手く日常の生活に活用することが求められている.一方で,患者自らも自己管理の重要性を認識し,栄養管理を行う必要がある.

[ Summary ] In the 1990s, with the development of the Japanese economy, medical treatment and welfare for dialysis patients were given preference. However, in 2000, Japan entered an era of declining birthrate and aging population, and medical expenses have had to be reviewed every time. Dialysis is no exception, and it is necessary to fully utilize both medical and nursing care systems and to use it appropriately with patients who are age each year. Meanwhile, patients themselves must recognize the importance of self-management.
