[ Summary ] |
Dialysis which contributes to improved survival rates Japanese dialysis patients is characterized by increased use of longer dialysis times, high flux dialyzers, RO devices, and central dialysate supply systems with purified dialysates quality in all facilities. For this reason, the 2013 version of the hemodialysis prescription guideline is close to confirmation for our existing treatments. Treatment can be achieved with dialysis 3 times a week for 4 hours or more per dialysis session. This standard schedule is a reasonable and sustainable compromise concerning interests such as the current economy, staffing levels and disease condition. On-line HDF with large volumes of replacement has produced improvements in patients' survival rates. Changes in dialysis schedules, such as frequent short treatment time and long duration sessions, place a burden on both patients and medical staffs, but produce positive effects on prognoses. |
