【 要旨 】 医療スタッフの勤務環境を整え,また職能専門職の集団として働きがいを高めるよう「雇用の質」を向上させる取り組みが始まっている.近時,医療勤務環境改善を推進するために,二つの仕組みによる活動が注目される.
一つは院内の勤務環境改善マネジメントシステムの構築と運用である.幅広い医療スタッフの協力のもと,一連の過程を定めて継続的に行う自主的な勤務環境改善活動を促進することを目指している.もう一つは,医療機関が必要に応じて,外部の専門家や公的機関から公的支援制度の仕組みや法制度について説明を受けることができるよう,医療勤務環境改善支援センターの設置を進めていることである.

[ Summary ] Efforts have begun to improve the working environment of medical staffs and to provide better "quality of employment" as a means to increase motivation within professional groups. Two types of activities for the improvement of the work environments for medical staffs have recently come to the fore.
The first of these is the development and operation of management systems for the improvement of working environments within hospitals. The aim of the above is to promote continued voluntary activities for improvement of work environments. A fixed set of processes must be implemented with the cooperation of a wide range of medical staffs. Another effort being made is the establishment of centers to support working environment improvements for medical staffs so they may, where necessary, receive instruction concerning technology and legal systems for provision of public support from outside experts and public institutions.
