[ Summary ] |
Dialysis patients have concomitant severe uremia, and many are of advanced age or are diabetic. Because of this, the dialysis medical staff must make an effort for early detection of complications or monitor for new problems in order to maintain the patient's activities of daily living. Physical assessment is the basis of prevention and is the first step in providing state of the art care. Improvements in the quality of the physical assessment do not occur with experience alone, but are built upon the acquisition of new knowledge and the day-to-day study of new techniques. |
