Online HDF therapy began in Europe. Initially, all treatment devices were personal dialysis machines. In Japan, we have been redesigining central dialysate delivery systems (CDDS) to reduce the complexity of management and to achieve purity of dialysate. We have continued to improve treatment methods. The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare approved the manufacture and sale of HDF equipment in 2010. In the year 2012, type II additions were made to ensure dialysate water quality. This was done to establish the safety of treatment. Treatment defined as chronic maintenance hemodialysis filtration was formally approved, for insurance payment of medical fees. As a result, there has been increased development of business-to-business cooperation in equipment development. |
