Clinical questions (CQ) are "simple questions" regarding patients with whom one is involved daily in clinical situations. They are a source of investigation for clinical research. Any research structured and developed into a practicable research plan is termed a "research question" (RQ). When developing CQs for RQs, their construction into PICO/PECO forms based on an EBM methods is advantageous in that a variety of problems may be solved. The most important points when developing RQ and PICO/PECO are insuring that the research relates to a feasible, interesting, novel, ethical, or relevant problem. RQ developed as such is rather straightforward. |
