A high number of malignant tumors in hemodialysis patients has been reported world wide. The mortality rate for malignant tumors in Japanese hemodialysis patients is 11.6 %. Gastrointestinal tumors are the most commonly observed form of cancer observed in Japanese hemodialysis patients. The characteristics of gastrointestinal tumors in hemodialysis patients and the prognoses for these patients are presented. |
