【 要旨 】 透析医を育成するためには，専門医制度と研修カリキュラムが不可欠である．専門医資格の取得には，透析症例要約，筆記試験および口頭試問による評価が必要とされる．日本透析医学会では，専門医育成のために，認定施設と教育関連施設を認定し，透析に関する知識や技術の習得を推進している．また，専門医資格の取得のみならず，専門医の質を担保するためには，研修カリキュラムに基づいた継続的な生涯学習が求められる．透析治療においては，維持透析に伴う合併症，血管アクセスの穿刺や管理など，多くの臨床経験や技術を要するものが少なくない．それらの技能・技術を向上させるための専門医制度の構築が求められる．

[ Summary ] The goals of medical specialists for treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD) include inhibiting disease progression, applying efficient methods for blood purification therapy, and maintaining better quality of life for patients. There are two main specialist groups participating end-stage CKD therapy ; fellow of the Japanese Society for Dialysis Therapy and board certified nephrologist of the Japanese Society of Nephrology. Essential factors of the two specialist groups, including authorization systems and curricula are presented. Other matters of concern related to these specialist systems are also reviewed.
