[ Summary ] |
There is a paucity of prospective data to support information regarding appropriate blood pressure (BP) targets. Anti-hypertensive therapy for hemodialysis patients consists of a combination of volume control and vasodilation. Fluid volume management consists of constant dry weight adjustment and maintenance of urine output. Renin-angiotensin inhibitors, β blockers and calcium antagonists are first-line drugs for hemodialysis patients. Alpha blockers, central antihypertensive drugs and combinations of angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor (ACEI) and angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARB) medications should be considered. |
