As of 2010 all medical equipment for on-line HDF was licensed and the medical payment system included provisions for payments to maintain dialysis fluid quality. This means that on-line HDF systems became approved for medical treatment twenty years after their initial clinical use. Although on-line HDF is expected to be widely used in the dialysis field, nebulous issues concerning medical payment and medical equipment systems remain to be resolved. |
