[ Summary ] |
Respiratory function and pulse rates are basic vital signs. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients often present respiratory derangement or abnormal pulse rates related to malnutrition, dysregulation of acid-base and/or electrolyte balances, anemia and fluid overloading due to kidney dysfunction. Assessments of respiratory function and pulse rates with other clinical manifestations, along with laboratory data are essential in evaluating CKD patients. These assessments help provide the early detection of systemic problems related to CKD and the administration of appropriate intervention. |
