[ Summary ] |
The time has come when a great number of infants may lead normal lives through developments in dialysis therapy. Success at kidney transplants has also become a major factor in treating infants. It has become clear that preemptive renal transplantation (PRT) is better than transplantation after dialysis (TAD) in terms of QOL, overall growth, graft survival rates and general prognoses. PRT should be considered in place of renal replacement therapy for renal insufficiency in the final stages of pediatric renal failure. |
