[ Summary ] |
Arrhythmia and sudden death are common in hemodialysis patients. This is due to a high prevalence of hypertrophy and ischemic heart diseases in these patients, as compared to patients with other underlying diseases. These conditions are due to acute changes in body fluid volume, electrolyte balance and acid-base balance. Therapy concepts for arrhythmia have changed. Recenfly, upstream therapies, which could be used to treat the basic pathogenic factors associated with arrhythmia, have been suggested. In relation to renal failure, pathogenic factors related to arrhythmia, increase in the renin-angiotensin-aldosteron system, activated sympathetic nerves. High blood pressure has also been observed. It is important to correct these factors and at the same time, to use appropriate antiarrhythmic drugs. |
