[ Summary ] |
The membrane filter (MF) method for microbial cell cultures is used for highly sensitive microbial cell counts in the dialysis fluid. A small number of microbial cells in the sample can be detected with the MF method. There are three MF methods the culture method, the semi-culture method and the non-culture method. These methods are used for evaluation of the microbial cell count and microbiological activities, according to the situation. It is crucial to monitor microbial cell numbers. The specificity and the endotoxin activity for purification of the dialysis fluid during the production process must also be closely monitored. Each MF method may be helpful in providing high quality dialysis fluid. |
