[ Summary ] |
In the urological field, interventional radiology can be used to treat trauma, tumors and vascular lesions. In traumatic diseases, transcatheter arterial embolization is commonly performed for superficial as well as deep renal injuries. Transcatheter arterial embolization with absolute ethanol is performed for renal cell carcinoma and angiomyolipoma. Radiofrequency ablation and cryosurgery are breakthroughs for the treatment of renal cell carcinoma. Renal cyst drainage is performed for hemorrhagic renal cysts. Percutaneous transcatheter angioplasty and stenting is performed for renovascular hypertension. These interventional radiology techniques are well established and effective for these urological diseases. |
