| [ Summary ] |
Interventional radiology (IVR) has played an important role in revascularization in peripheral arterial disease (PAD) in patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD). We discussed the indications, methods and results of IVR for PAD in patients with ESRD. As far as maybe determined, IVR contributes to the treatment of patients with iliac arterial occlusive disease. However, there is no significant evidence as to adequate outcomes with IVR, compared with conventional surgery, in cases with infrainguinal disease. Combined therapy with conventional surgery and IVR is effective for several type of case. To obtain good therapeutic results, it is important to program how to treat ischemic legs in patients with ESRD as well as developing countermeasures for complications. |
