[ Summary ] |
Recently it has become important to treat the psychological and psychiatric problems of patients with chronic renal failure. Many research studies on the psychological and psychiatric problems of the children with chronic renal failure have indicated an overtly symbiotic relation with their mothers, social and emotional immaturity, body image disturbances and depressive states. Through interviews and questionnaires for patients and their families, we speculated on these problems, deriving from longterm anxiety about their disease, for pediatric patients with no explanation of the disease. We concluded it is necessary that these patients and their families get various types of information about the disease, and accurate explanations with pre-end-stage renal disease, and consultation liaisons for psychiatric care. |
